Prepare yourself for an unforgettable experience! Even cyclists with little experience enjoy this stimulating down hill ride from Chimborazo, the highest mountain in the world if measured from the centre of the planet.
Leaving Abraspungo in a 4x4 vehicle, we arrive at the Carrel Brothers Refuge at 4800 mts. Depending on the weather, experienced and acclimatized cyclists have the option to cycle up to 5450 mts, the rest begin the descent from 4,800 mts. Along the route, which is rarely used by visitors and mountaineers, we can enjoy a head on view of Chimborazo, the most impressive part of the mountain, showing off its width and famous face. This downhill ride allows us to observe vicuñas and other species of local fauna in their natural habitat, the Chorrera Canyon, and a panoramic view of the Colta Lake, the valley of Riobamba and 6 snow capped peaks, scattered across the spectacular mountain chain. Our ride ends in San Juan, Calpi.
